The end of the season on the festive day which only exists in Bad Ischl
It started a long, long time ago when, due to the longer evenings, the lights had to be turned on while working and the boss invited his employees to a “Bratl”... This tradition of “getting professionally together” with good food and drinks continues today and therefore so many companies take their employees to the restaurants. Besides, all milestone birthdays of locals aged 50 and over are celebrated with a church service and a spectacular procession through the city.
At the k.u.k. Hofwirt chef Wolfgang Loidl's main focus is his legendary roast pork with Stöcklkraut. When the weather is nice, all areas of k.u.k. Hofwirt and Hofbeisl, including Osteria MIRAMARE and all outdoor dining areas are available all day long. Please reserve a table in time +43 664 152 86 84!
Music starting in the afternoon live on stage & walking: The Goiserer & Gosinger “Strudlsupp'm-Musi”. Why is this formation called like that? Because they play like a "strudel soup" - "quite real", "absolutely unamplified" and "thrown together as it suits", just the way "everyone likes it", always "with a lot of humor and a lot to laugh about."

No tavern without music, no music without a regular table.
For this project of the European Capital of Culture 2024 Tavern Laboratory, the musicians leave their local regulars' table to play in another, distant tavern in the Salzkammergut. Smaller ensembles of passionate amateur musicians will be performing in taverns in the region from July 12 to September 20, 2024, providing exchange, conversation material and a series of successful evenings and many a cozy afternoon in the tavern.
We are looking forward to a pleasant get-together with the Viachtwanga Wiazhausmusi.

Because our entire program had been set since spring, and all bands and partners were booked, after the Ischler Weinroas was cancelled by the organizer, we met up with our neighbors at Schröpferplatz, the Bad Ischl Grocery Store, Galleria Home Interiors and Café Bar Johann, "for a highly enjoyable start to the Harvest Festival", we decided to organize a small and fine wine tasting ourselves. We present the following wine tasting stations and contents to our joint guests:

In the year of the European Capital of Culture, the Harvest Festival in the heart of the Salzkammergut will be organized in a special way. Bad Ischl is the only Upper Austrian municipality to take part in the Salzburg Harvest Festival again and offers an extensive program.
The official opening with the city's representatives of tourism, commerce and politics will take place at k.u.k. umbrella bar outdoor area and is accompanied by a tasty breakfast pint with the Ischler Tanzbläser (folkloric brass band) under the direction of Sepp Leithner.
The legendary Trumer Harvest Festival is our homage to the “Trumer autumn beer”. Of course there are also classic beers like the “Trumer Pils” by “Obertrumer Original” as a Zwickel draft beer, suitable for the fall season or the “Trumer Freispiel”, which is a non-alcoholic beer specialty and is particularly popular when driving.

The weekend music program presents legends of Austropop, in the context of the European Capital of Culture with an international flair of rock & roll, R & B and world hits. None other than Mat Schuh will start the program with his 5-piece band on Friday August 23.8rd.

On Saturday 24.8. not only the Harvest Festival opening at 10:30 is a highlight (see above) but also the performance of the Bad Ischl musician and “songwriter of the hearts” Anna Coa. In addition to “fresh alpine austropop with heart and brain,” she also brings the multiple and successful song contest participant Gary Lux (also known for “Austria 3” and “Wir 4”) including band (Leyti Seck percussion and Kurt Preslmaier, who performs with stars like Uli Bäer) on the k.u.k. stage!

Capital of culture or not… – let’s never change a winning thing!
The great love between Austria and Bavaria has existed since the time of the Emperor, since “Franz & Sisi”. Our tablecloths are blue and white again on this midsummer festive day and are the ideal base for our Maisel's wheat beer and the “hearty, honest white sausages without compromise” from our butcher Dorfmetzgerei Hauer from Lochen am See.
Like the Habsburgs, despite all our connection to the earth in the Salzkammergut, we think particularly globally in 2024. The Salty Dixie Ramblers from Salzburg once again give the down-to-earth nature of this event a corresponding “touch of the world” with tried-and-tested “hot music from New Orleans”.

The peak of the high season with the great k.u.k. Festival at Schröpferplatz
Above all, it is a celebration of shopping in our beautiful Bad Ischl city center. The shops are open until 19:XNUMX that day and the city is closed to all traffic. There are numerous attractions everywhere. Together with the tourist office, the Bad Ischl Originals are once again rolling out the red carpet for city strollers who want to feel “like an emperor”. After shopping, everybody meets up at Schröpferplatz “for the big party”.
After many years we have managed to bring Eddy Miller from Munich back to the festival with both familiar and new repertoire and a new line-up on the k.u.k. stage. Best international music for this highly festive occasion before His Majesty's Birthday (August 18th).

Because we are the Capital of Culture, because on this date there is a “Fête de la Musique°” throughout the Salzkammergut, where our city will be closed to traffic - and because Friday June 21st is the legendary Solstice Night, we are bringing “Amore Italiano” right in the heart of our city and region. The 8 professional musicians and stars of the pop, musical and opera world present a musical firework of superlatives. They tour with their “Italian Night” through Austria and bring the feeling of life that we all love so much to the people with a unique show. A great, spectacular evening full of Italo hits awaits our guests.
In the afternoon from 16:00 the city will be closed and the fully equipped k.u.k. stage is ready for the “Fête de la Musique”. From 16:30 at the latest we are looking forward to “Austronom” Manfred Madlberger, then we will rebuild the stage and from about 19:00 “Amore Italiano” will start playing. Singing together brings nations together
Under the motto “Singing between mountains and lakes”, this event is taking place in Bad Ischl for the 15th time, this year for the first time including a “friendship concert” on Monday April 29.4th. on our k.u.k. Stage, with 3 choirs from Estonia and the Czech Republic: Segakoor Sõprus (Tallinn, Estonia), Bigysbor (Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic), EBS Kammerkoor (Tallinn, Estonia).
Each choir has 23 to 45 singers. There has never been such a “natural” and very special sound in our outdoor garden restaurant before. This will be really exciting!
The competition takes place from Saturday 27.4. until Wednesday 1.5. in Bad Ischl (congress and theater hall, central park, citiy church) and is based on the idea of bringing people from all countries, cultures and mentalities together in peaceful competition. What an important and beautiful idea in our present time!

In the special cultural year of 2024, we are dedicating ourselves to the extremely iconic theme of “love” in all its variations. Definitely colorful, flashy, sexy and – simply amazing. No matter whether retro or progressive, hetero or homo, male, female or in between: Let's make love - not war!
At the 1st Ischler Love Ball on Carnival Saturday there will be “fireworks of lascivious masquerade, frivolity and eroticism”. Please do your best and dress up according to the motto, because the best costumes and outfits will be awarded with great prizes in collaboration with the Ischl pole dance studio “Leichtflug”, including a pole pole premiere k.u.k. Hofbeisl!
It is particularly unique k.u.k. Rose Ball on Shrove Monday established itself as a fixed star in the 5-day program. This year, “Signore Amore” DJ René “Superrensch” Leeb enchants the guests’ hearts and makes everyone available Hofbeisl-Area to the dance floor. A fine evening of romance, with a really good atmosphere that comes from the heart.
Our DJs in the kuk Hofbeisl start their program at the end of the Osteria kitchen at around 21 p.m., at the Love Ball they start as soon as the evening mood is right. The outdoor program on Carnival Tuesday depends on weather and mood. If necessary, we publish important news here and on our social media.

k.u.k. Hofbeisl & Osteria MIRMARE
As some people know, the Wildenstoana Stüberl no longer exists. That’s why we decided to offer our "holy halls" to our “k.u.k. Haus & Hof-Kramperln” and to organize together a carnival ball based on the motto “Wild Wild West”.
From 20 p.m. the Wildenstoana group will welcome their and our guests with a champagne reception and at the same time star DJ Harvey Miller will start his music program at the k.u.k. turntables - of course sensitively adapted to the situative phase of the evening.
Especially for this evening we offer a “Wildenstoana half-board menu” (Bacardi Cola 2cl + 2cl Berliner Luft) for €8,- and the “Wildenstoana full-board menu” (1 bottle of Bacardi incl. 1 L Cola + 1 bottle of Berliner Luft) for €140,-.
If you're feeling hungry, you can enjoy our Sacherwürstl & Maestro Allessandros Pizza slices at the k.u.k. Osteria Miramare.

k.u.k. outdoor winter-garden
The k.u.k. Cable Car Restaurantis once again a popular attraction in the heart of Bad Ischl city center at Schröpferplatz. It was developed together with the k.u.k. Partner company Carvatech from Oberweis near Gmundenand invites our guests until shortly before carnival at the beginning of February 2024, to enjoy all the new k.u.k. menus “outdoor and yet indoor” in a very special ambience including an all-around city panorama.
Every gondola in its noble, golden k.u.k. design is named after one of the surrounding mountains, offers space for a maximum of eight people and is equipped with adjustable heating and – if desired – with background music. The tables in the gondolas are finely set and the culinary offering is for the first time more extensive than ever before: this year you can't just choose from the extensive menu of the k.u.k. Hofwirt but depending on the weather and capacity also from the newly published menu of the “Osteria Miramare” in the k.u.k. Hofbeisl, with all Italian specialties from master Alessandro. There is also a very special pre-order menu for groups of two or more people, to be ordered in advance.
The k.u.k.-Umbrella Bar will also be open again this year with a smaller outdoor winter garden from December. Overall, you can experience a full-service open air bar and restaurant at the Schröpferplatz, almost like in summer.
